I believe the reason behind the name, "Smashfiles" is due to the fact that the forum creator's username is Smashfiles.

Well, isn't that obvious? His username is Smashfiles, he's the only admin, and the original purpose of this forum was for people who watch and participate in the Smashfiles youtube account to communicate.
