I know a lot of people here may not listen to it, but I've basically grown up in an area where's it's the most common. So, here's my list of recommended rappers that you should listen to.

Eminem (Yes, I said it)
Akon (Something Different)

i dont listen to a lot of rap but i do like gorilaz

well its mostly a mixture of rap rock and pop i also like black eyed peas.

The Black Eyed Peas are decent. Some of their music was good.

some of the songs get on my nerves. i also like the parodys of crank dat superman. my fav is crank dat homelessman

Man, they took those too far with the Soulja Boy. I could'nt stand his song, let alone everyone else's.

well i hate the orijinal and evryone at mi school loves it. im just glad someone ripped on solder boy his songs just suck

hoo, beastie boys too. though I thought they were more under hiphop, I doubt there's much difference between that and rap. though rap doesn't sound like some kind of bone misplacement.
