WHOS GOT TEH CHOCOBOS!!!!

seriuosly who can get the gold chocobo in FF7 i always either get killed by ruby or i'm just being a complete moron. ( also why didnt they put red chocobo in 7?) for those of you who are confused or havnt played FF7 chocobos are bassically big chickens that you can ride/ raise. they are usless in 9 and 8 but theres a few mini games for them in 7 to waste your hard earned gil in . but realy can anyone tell me how to beat ruby and thus get the gold chocobo? my freind did it before so i could get knights of the round first time i played it, but now i'm trying to play it through and i need some tips.
