This Halloween

So - it's October - that means Halloween. A fun, sugary, not-a-school-night (for once) holiday. What will you be doing? Trick-or-treating, handing out the candy, scaring the crap out of little kids, wasting away at the computer, or something else?

I'm going to take part in Reverse Trick-or-Treating - where you go to people's houses, and you give THEM candy - card with a piece of Fair Trade chocolate attached. This is done in support of Fair Trade, the idea that farmers in developing and 3rd world countries should get paid a fair price for their goods (namely coffee and cocoa), rather then much less of what farmers in advanced countries would earn. These less fortunate farmers often employ forced child labor, and can still stay in poverty. It's a lose-lose situation for everyone except us lazy Americans who buy Hershey's at the local Wal-Mart. That sounds interesting. Even if I can't do the Fair Trade thing, I stil think I may give candy to them. Sounds fun.

i'm not realy doing anything halloween becouse 1 i'm jewish and 2 if i go walking around monterrey asking for candy i'll get mugged, shot stabbed, and probably killed 50 times each.
